Amadi-Holloway glad to be injury-free

When the forward arrived at Highbury from Wycombe Wanderers in the summer he was recovering from an ankle injury.

After getting his way into contention he pulled up with a hamstring injury after Fleetwood’s game against Bolton at the end of August and has only just made his comeback.

Amadi-Holloway set up two goals in Town’s 4-2 Checkatrade Trophy defeat at Carlisle earlier this month and followed it up with a goal in their 4-2, extra-time win over Southport last week.

Now the 23-year-old is keen to get more minutes under his belt as Town face AFC Wimbledon today.

He said: “I’m feeling very good to get back playing and get some assists and some goals is what I want to do.

“It has been a hard time since I have been here but I have got my chance and hopefully now I will get some more minutes.

“It is a hard time for any player to come back from injury and I’d just come back from my ankle injury.

“As I was coming back I got injured again which is like the worst thing that could have happened but it is over now and I have just got to hit the ground running really.”

And Amadi-Holloway says he brings other qualities to complement David Ball, Ash Hunter, Chris Long, Devante Cole and Alex Jakubiak.

He said: “That is what is going so well for me is that I’m different. We have got a few strikers here which are doing really well but I’m still something different that they haven’t got so if they need someone big or a target man then I’m the one really.”
