A MAN has been injured after falling from a bridge on the M55 motorway.
The 28-year-old, who has not been named, fell from Rosemary Lane over bridge on to the hard shoulder of the west bound carriageway, near junction one at Broughton.

Contrary to reports by eyewitnesses at the scene, police say he was not hit by a vehicle after his fall.

He sustained serious leg injuries and has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital. His condition is not thought to be life threatening.

One lane of the carriageway was closed while ambulance crews attended to the man but it has now re-opened.
